The Research Center for Memory Cultures was established in 2014. It is a research, educational, didactic, popularizing, and publishing unit operating at the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University. It focuses on the theories and cultural practices related to the phenomena of memory in an individual and collective dimension. Particular emphasis is placed on the entanglements characteristic of Central and Eastern Europe. The center offers open discussions on current issues in the field of memory studies. It is a hub for several research projects on memory cultures (Horizon2020, NPRH - National Program for the Development of Humanities, NCN - National Science Centre, DFG - German Research Foundation).
