The subject of the speech is the presentation of the results of research devoted to the role and place of anniversary resolutions of the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland in the Polish policy of memory. The analyzed research material (the content of resolutions, transcripts from meetings of parliamentary committees, positions of political parties on resolutions) covers the years 1989-2019. The research was carried out as part of a research project financed by the National Science Center in Krakow - "The role and place of the anniversary resolutions of the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland in Polish memory policy (1989-2019)". In Poland, dates such as 1918, 1945, 1952 or 1989 marked a new political and social order, often a turning point - also in terms of the calendar of celebrated anniversaries, and it commemorates specific events and figures from the past. The proposed speech will be accompanied by an answer to the question about the motives for adopting the anniversary resolutions, as well as their political, social and international significance. The hypothesis assumes that the choice of historical anniversaries worthy of commemoration in Poland is imposed by the ideological and political orientation of political parties and groups. It is also assumed that the anniversary resolutions are an important mechanism in shaping the Polish memory policy. The author's considerations are mainly based on the methodology of political science.
